Whats Going On

Lots of things are going on.  But the most exciting for me at the moment is my Threadless submission.  Threadless is running a Minecraft tee shirt design contest.  Now, I love Minecraft, so I had to jump at the opportunity to design a Minecraft shirt.  Below is the link to the page, and if anyone actually reads my blog you are awesome, and if you want to help me, all you need to do is score my design, click on "email me if this gets made" and/or leave a comment professing your love for my design.  If you use Facebook, you don't even need a Theradless account to vote, because it allows you to log in with Facebook.  For anyone that really likes the design, I have it made up as computer, phone, and tablet wallpapers on my website.

Mob Mob - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

In other news, I am working on a project for my company, Right After Then Design, that will be coming out in the next few months.  There will be more on that soon.  Aside from that project, there are many things that I am working on, but not too much I want to talk about yet.  Recently I did updated my website with some new art like the sketched below.

Yup

So, although I never even posted about it on this blog, the Kickstarter project went very well.  My book, Yesterday Brings Today, should be available some time soon if I can work out some details.  But this brings me to what to do with this blog.  Although I Don't know if anyone really reads this, it does give me a place to put random things I do like the illustration above.  We shall see, but I keep considering the idea of completely merging with Right After Then, so I don't have so many things to keep track of.  For now, don't forget to check out Angry and Mad and even though the Kickstarter is already funded, you can still see how things are coming along with the book on the project page.

Kicking Things Off

Hopefully my next post will be "Kickstartering Things Off".  If you don't know anything about kickstarter.com, you should check it out.  Kickstarter is a really fantastic site that helps people fund creative projects.  It allows people to back a project and get rewarded for it in the end.  I am in the process of getting my Yesterday Brings Today project approved.  I will post more about that as soon as I am approved.

In case you don't know, Yesterday Brings Today is an illustrated short story I have been working on for a long while now.  It's an odd thing because while most of my artwork is on the comical side of things, this is much more serious.  I have been posting about it over on the Right After Then blog.  Some more information on Yesterday Brings Today is there, and once the kickstarter is up and running you will be able to learn even more about my book.

Fantastic customers and sketches

Above is a sketch I did of some awesome customers. They really enjoyed it, and sometimes it's people like that that remind you of why you do what you do. To give someone something that hopefully they will enjoy for a long time to come is a great feeling. When you do mostly comical work it is often assumed that your artwork is empty, but in truth I put a lot of myself into everything I do. Finding things to laugh at and enjoy life is very important. The other important thing that cartoons and caricatures do is point out what makes us different, what makes us unique.

Down here is a body sketch I drew. Usually I despise bodies, they are a little on the campy side, and usually they are not worth the time you put into them. The exception to this is that we recently increased the prices of the body sketches, and now I feel better about the time I have to put in for the body. The other exception is fun customers with fun requests, like this cat woman sketch.

Just some Great Fair Sketches

Nothing much to report; I just keep pluggin' away at Angry and Mad and Right After Then. In the past few days I have gotten bunch of work done on one of our upcoming comics; I've done some artwork and some much needed naming of characters.

In an unrelated note, here is a whole slew of fair caricatures I've done recently.

A Good Drawing Day

Just got back from a really great drawing session. It started out as a vary bad drawing night; it's been much too long since I have drawn from a model, but in the end I turned out these two pieces that I really enjoy, so enjoy . . .

Also, everything with Right After Then is going really well. We have decided to re-imagine my old web comic site, Angry and Mad, into an entirely new animal. With Right After Then we have a lot of ideas for stories, including ones to go along with the games we are developing, so Angry and Mad will be our place to have these stories play out. This will leave our official site clean and professional, while Angry and Mad is our playground for madness. I am happy and glad about it.

Touching Some Drawing Experiments

So I have been wanting to start experimenting more with drawing on my iPad, and I have finally gotten to it. I'm not sure if it will go anywhere but I just bought a Boxwave stylus that works really nice. Adobe is working on a slew of touch apps. Honestly I feel like none of these apps are completely up to par yet, but that's a part of app development; I have high hopes. Adobe Ideas is the app I used for these two; it's clean, well designed, but still lacking on features.
